new playground
Room M went out on to the BRAND NEW senior playground for a bit of a trial of the fantastic new equipment there. What a lucky lot of children we are at Manchester Street School to be able to use this cool new playground.

windstreamers
As part of our study on weather, all the middle team have been making some instruments to help them measure aspects of the weather. One of these instruments was a wind streamer, which lets us see which direction the wind is coming from. The children in Room M use these every day to find out the wind direction. We have had lots of easterly winds lately. You have to know which direction is north to use these instruments. They really work!!!
On Enviro Day we made some dioramas. These were of the gecko's environment, and looked fairly good when they were finished. We know that geckos like to have things like bark, rocks, moss, rotting logs, and lots of plants around them. We put in some autumn leaves as well to give our clay geckos some protection, and to have something to hide under! We cut out pictures from magazines to make a lovely green background.
